Harsh Singh is a consultant Cardio-Thoracic Surgeon in Christchurch. He undertakes his surgical practice at the Christchurch Hospital and St George’s Hospital. In his twenty years of experience in Christchurch, he has led the development of beating heart surgery, video-assisted lung surgery, aortic surgery, and the Thoracic Trauma Surgery Program. Considered one of the lead surgeons in the country in these areas, Harsh has not only been instrumental in the development of these but also mentors and teaches these techniques on both national and international forums. He has served as the Chair of the National Cardiac Surgical network, Clinical Director of the Christchurch Hospital Unit, and the NZ representative on the Board of the Australia/NZ Cardio-Thoracic Society. Harsh has also been the lead surgeon responsible for the development of the National Cardiac Surgical Registry. The registry is used to monitor the quality of cardiac surgical services around the country and benchmark with international standards.
Harsh has also been heavily involved in charity work, as the founder of The Mutima Project with an aim to set up a Cardiac Surgical unit in Zambia. In his free time, he enjoys time with his family and friends playing golf, travel, tramping, and painting.
